In 1951, two selected metal plants were combined into a new factory under the name of Łódzkie Zaklady
Metalowe (Lodz Metal Works) and assigned the task of manufacturing of machines and appliances for professional kitchens. Factory, military and hospital canteens as well as restaurants, ?milk bars? (the then fast food restaurants) and hotels were the main customers of this newly created factory.

           Between 1951 and 1960, the factory produced the following assortment of professional kitchens equipment: steam and coal-fired boiling pans, meat slicers, vegetable choping machines and, at the end of this period, also dishwashing machines.

            The sixties was the time when the production of electric and gas boiling pans as well as tilting boiling
pans of small capacities was launched. In that period of time stainless steel metal sheets for boiling pans containers were gradually introduced.

           In 1975, the dishwashing machine with the capacity of 1000 plates/hour (licensed French design) was introduced. Thus the common technical and trade co-operation with French company BONNET began. At that point the company started exporting to France, former Soviet Union and other East European Countries.

           A fundamental change in the factory’s development ocurred after the political transition in 1989. The most
important date in the company’s history is July 1990 ? the day when it was
privatized and its name was changed to LOZAMET METAL WORKS Co. Ltd. At that moment the radical modernization of the whole factory started. Up-to-date technological solutions and new, modern products were gradually
introduced. Such a plan was a suitable response to the development of catering business.        

            In 1999 the Integrated Managing System ISO-9001 was introduced and followed by other 
European standards: ISO-14001 and PN-18001.

           Now, after 60 years since its establishment, our company LOZAMET is one of the dominant Polish suppliers of machines and appliances for the catering industry and an important exporter to Western Countries, such as: France, Germany, Great Britain, Norway and Spain.
